nepantla, liminal, the space between
welcome to threshold medicine
The threshold is a portal, nepantla, an opening between worlds or between levels of consciousness. The medicine of these liminal spaces is in the letting go, the coming undone, in the surrender. The medicine is the gold created from the alchemy of death, transformation, and rebirth cycles. Healing is in the space where what was can no longer exist and what is to be can’t yet be known. Here, we are tending the thresholds.
Threshold Medicine is a container for explorations in healing, death and dying, consciousness and entheogenic plant medicine, ancestral reconnection and kincentric awareness. We take an anti-racist and social justice approach to psychedelic medicine, centering the contributions and experiences of Black, Indigenous and people of color (people of the global majority).

“…Perceiving something from two different angles creates a split in awareness that can lead to the ability to control perception, to balance contemporary society’s worldview with the nonordinary worldview, and to move between them to a space that simultaneously exists and does not exist. I call entering this realm ‘nepantla’ - the Nahuatl word for an in-between space…”
